Stuart James

Stuart is married with two sons and lives in East Sussex. His radio career began in 1976 in hospital radio for the Woolwich Hospitals Broadcasting Service. In the same year he went to work, as a studio assistant, for the BBC at the Medway, now called Radio Kent, and for BBC Radio Brighton, now known as Southern Counties Radio.

In 1979 he joined P&O Cruises as an Entertainment Officer/Disc Jockey, on board SS Oriana and SS Canberrba. Whilst overseas, he was offered freelance work in Gibraltar for the British Forces Broadcasting Service. He took up their offer and the following year went on to work in Germany.

In 1983 he took up a full time post as presenter with the Commercial Radio Station in Ipswich, called Radio Orwell, now known as SGR.

At the end of his contract he was again offered a job with BFBS and in 1985 he joined their biggest radio station in Germany. After that he travelled with BFBS to Gibraltar, Belize, Honk Kong, Brunei, Bosnia, London and Catterick. Holding many positions such as head of music and presentation, Deputy Controller for Worldwide Programming for BFBS in London.

Stuart is to be seen on many tv programmes as an extra, another string to his bow.

He was the breakfast presenter with Worthing Radio in Nov '99 and is a founder member of WBC.
