I read with interest the letter from Kathy Robinson (2/5) concerning the 'appearance' of wildlife expert Roger Musselle on Southern Counties Radio. It took me back to the Radio Sussex days when David Legge presented the David on Sunday programme between 1988 - 93, with Roger as a very popular contributor to a programme full of light hearted banter. David is now a member of the Wireless Broadcasting Company (WBC)who are submitting an application to the Radio Authority to operate the new FM radio station for the Adur to Arun area.

Will they get back together again ?. Who knows but according to the old saying, what goes around comes around.

One of the most ambitious projects undertaken in the Worthing area for many years will come to fruition in the next 18 months or so. The Radio Authority, who regulate independent radio stations, are to advertise an eight year   FM radio licence for the Worthing area , in August / September of this year. The team that planned, engineered and broadcast a one month Restricted Service Licence to the local community in November 1999, live from the Worthing Football Club, as Worthing Radio, have notified the RA of their intention to apply for the licence. As a result of the support shown by the local residents and the business community during that RSL, Bob James, David Legge, Stuart James and others, who between them have over 80 years broadcasting experience with International, National and local radio stations, have formed the Wireless Broadcasting Company - WBC. From Littlehampton in the west to Shoreham in the east, from Worthing to Steyning and Storrington in the north , WBC want to provide a service that offers great music across the last 50 years, comprehensive local news, sport and travel information plus features and local issues that matter to the community. A radio station run by local people for the benefit of local people. It is important that we can show the Radio Authority  that the local community want such a station, and seek your support by way of a letter that we can submit with our application.

For further information about the members of the group please visit our website.

When we are awarded the licence , WBC look forward to speaking with you on air.
